The name ‘Liquid Jade Primo’ is probably the coolest part of this phone
We can’t say it’s the hottest smartphone — it looks like an Android phone circa 2011 — but its specs look fairly capable. The Liquid Jade Primo has a 5.5-inch full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution AMOLED screen made from Gorilla Glass, which Acer says supports “100% of the NTSC color gamut and provides 176-degree wide-viewing angles.”
Acer powers Windows 10 Mobile with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and 3GB of RAM. The phone also provides 32GB of internal storage. There’s LTE Cat. 6 for ultra-fast connection speeds, and 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi.
The Liquid Jade Primo should also take great photos. On the backside there’s a 21-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED flash. The camera is also capable of recording video at up to 4K (3,820 x 2,160 resolution). Smack above the screen is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture for high-resolution selfies.
The Continuum feature — also found on Microsoft’s Lumia 950 and 950XL — essentially turns the phone into a PC-like experience when it’s connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse using a dock sold separately.
The Liquid Jade Primo will be available in the U.S. starting in March. Pricing wasn’t announced at CES.
